Hi,

I'm new to paintball and in the process of getting my own gear... I have read as much as I can on review sites etc and still not 100% what the best marker will be for me... I've got about £150 for it but willing to go a little higher if worth it... I've been looking at the GOG envy and also the spyder fenix 2012... I'll be playing sup' air mostly so ideally after something light and that will last me until I hopefully, get better.. Cheers for the help guys!

if your playing sup air, i would persoanlly recomend spending a little more on a Marker as you will save money in the long run and realize what type of marker you actually need if you bought a lower end marker

i would suggest getting something you can easily get teched

Dye Proto marker PMR
Eclipse Etek or Etha
Empire Axe or Mini

thats just my suggestion as i have like pretty much every paintball started at the bottom and spent countless £££ finding the the correct marker

Hope this helps

i personally know nothing about the mini other than what i have read on this forum

i obviously would push the Etha over the mini as i work for planet eclipse but the etha is double your budget retail unless you found one for sale on here

etha is a very robust Marker very easy to maintain we only started selling them in december 2011 so where ever you get one from will still be covered under the standard warranty

gog envy can shoot all the modes you want it to if you get the blackheart version for £200 new :)

its the same gun just it has a upgraded circuit board and it comes with eyes .

Thanks for the advice, what would you recommend beween the mini and the etha? Cheers
i think between the etha and the mini i have shot both and preffer etha but it depends on your style if it is your first marker then you might wanna go down a store and try one or borrow a friend to shoot alittle before investing all your money ino a marker you might not like.

tbh I'd just look at 2nd hand to begin with. The amount lost on a new marker is fine if its spot on and you are not expecting to sell. go for a marker that techs are still supporting, and you are on to a winner.

Just to say mate (if you havent already) get a good fitting comfortable mask first then focus on other stuff. Also on the marker side i have shot the Etha and its great but haven't shot the mini but you can pick one up second hand around here for about £150-£200 unlike the Etha as the Etha is a lot newer. Just one more thing if you go for the mini (second hand) get a Gen 2 or 3 not a 1 as they had/have a lot of problems. :) hope this helps good luck.

Alright great thanks for all the advice! I think I am gonna go second hand now (most likely a mini) and cheers about getting a second gen or later..I didn't know that!! I brought a new profiler mask because I had read that splashing out on a good mask is highly recommended..
As for a hopper, I can get a halo B second hand for 30...does that seem decent?
