hey everyone, first time here as im just getting into the sport :)

so i have recently become a martial at my local paintball site, as i have recently started playing aswell i decided to buy a full kit out to get me started so i ordered the following;

BT Omega 2012
Dye I4 Mask
Dye C11 Jersey
24oz CO2 tank
Pure Energy Remote Line

After it all arrived the tank turned out to be DOT stamped so thats gone in the bin, and i had a 3000psi 0.8l HPA tank ordered. After testing the gun on a spare CO2 tank i found that the range of it was really low as i used some cheap tanks supplied free by the site. Putting it down to the pressure being released being funny as paintballs were shooting with good strength but all of a sudden dropping after maybe 15 meters which is rubbish. (i have used the gun to play twice by the way and it shot much better the first time but with a more expensive CO2 tank)

im having it chronograph'd with my new air tank on sunday but if my range doesnt increase much i was considering buying an Apex 2 18" as the 14" is too small for the shroud or i could use the original barrel due to it having the apex fitting on the end. Has anyone else used the apex 2 with a BT Omega? i dont know anyone who has one that i could lend so im having to rely on everyones recommendations. I've seen videos with it being accurate but not with the omega, its mainly only for the long flat shots as i play woodsball

Any help would be appreciated greatly, Regards
Jamie

18 Inch barrels are to long, if you NEED a longer barrel stick to 16 but the apex is a very worthwhile upgrade for recreational play which judging by your setup is what your planning on doing, also you should really have bought a set of pants before the jersey as they are a far more worthwhile investment. The length of the barrel does literally nothing in regards to range so a shorter barrel will help more as you can get closer to your cover.

The site i work for has some custom pants on order for all staff so im waiting on those hense i did t buy any. The apex will fit on the stock 14.5" barrel so i will order the 14" one and put it on my barrel. Has anyone seen any good performance increase though? Is it harder to play with for example when using the lo g flat shots due to them slightly dipping when they leave the barrel? Or a decrease in velocity/force?

its a game changer tbh especially against smaller bunkers and rentals, its not so much harder to play with just needs some adjustment time

thanks, i tend to be more of a long range defending player and i tend to have good accuracy from the hip so hopefully i will adjust quickly. what setting would you recommend? I know theres 9 but not which is rhe the best long flat shot

for anyone that wants to know, my HPA was added, i chrono'd the gun myself, when i first put the HPA tank on it was at a tiny 212fps so its been taken up to 279fps, accuracy has increased but i will have to ask around where i work and see if anyone can lend me an apex2 tip to try out :)
