Hi all,

need to pick the brains of all you Mini techs (I've sent Bolter a pm as well just to cover all the bases).

Info I want -

1) can it be fixed
2) what caused it?

What happened -

not used my mini for 3 months, so decided to put some paint through it ready for tomorrow.

First 20~ balls fired fine then there was a small pop and it went full auto but had no kick, with air leaking down the barrel.

Removed the air bottle and grips and found the bottom cap of the solenoid and the bar from inside the noid loose in the grip frame.

Pic not mine just included for illustration purposes only

Answers on a postcard or you could just post in the thread.

Cheers

2) Excessive operating pressure &/or defective solenoid are two possibilities.

1) Sounds terminal to me, bearing in mind the operating pressure (200 lbs psi) and tolerances during manufacture.

Good idea, asking Bolter, tho'. Replacement noid £35 from Justpaintball.

:eek:wow i have never heared of that happening before :eek:

i think your best option would be to give kee a ring and order another solenoid, however this could be expensive

really you want to find out how it happened first so that if you do get another one then it won't do the same thing

what was the pressure on the guage?

when the gun did shoot for the first 20 balls, was the velocity normal?

it could have just been some grit in the solenoid, making it stick and letting the pressure build up but that seems unlikelly, the only other reason i can think of is that the regulator had a massive pressure spike but i have never seen them lead to anything like this

if you have had the gun for a while then it might be worth giving the HPR some attention/maintenance, this video should help:

sorry i couldn't be of any more help

Operating pressure was normal, if it was beyond the standard 200, it should have only popped an o-ring or two, plus the mini reg has got a dump valve system to release if it over pressurizes (Just not sure what psi it dumps at)

I think your right about it being a right off, had a proper look and there's a brass piece on the cap that appears to have sheared

Yeah never seen it before either, had a search on the nation and google but no one else has had the same problem.

I'll e-mail kee tonight.

I've lowered all the pressures on both the reg and the poppit before I install my spare which will be tomorrow as my spares kits with eelz.

The operating pressure was normal
Not sure on the velocity, only tried it in the garden and not got a crono.

I may be in touch after the weekend to stock up on spare parts.
