Ion Feed neck removal

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light here for me.

Just got a quick release feed-neck for my boys Ion, the standard is locked solid.

So before i attempt the brutal removal of said feed-neck, i need to confirm a few basics.

1. Thread, is it threaded as standard, i have to get technical here, is it righty tighty, lefty loosey

or is it one those backward type things (anyone had to do this or has one that can try and confirm)

2. Any tips for removal, i know its a vice job, but before i go to far, any words of wisdom

Like you've said mate it is threaded and you do twist it counter clockwise "lefty loosey" to get it off but be aware your probably going to damage it as its got a thread lock! (loctite) so basically just put a cloth around the feedneck and twist with pliers or something of the same nature heating it up also helps (hairdryer).... as its secured with thread lock (loctite) this generally crushes it somewhat however it should come straight out. Then you can screw your new one in just be careful not to cross thread when putting the new one on or you'll need to buy a new breach!..... I would also advise you to apply a small bit of thread locking glue to the new feedneck to help secure it to the gun! but this is not crutial if you haven't got any at hand...

Best bet is to warm it up to try and soften the loctite,use a hair dryer or heat gun.

Thanks all, by looking at the new feed enck i thought it was normal thread, but needed to make sure before i got to animal stage last thing i want to do it make it tighter

And yes i do have some lock tight ready, small dab will be applied :thumb:

Stripping breech assembly out and soaking in boiling water for a few hours helps the break loctite

with a little heat it popped off nice and easy
