With several Incidents that have occured at Max Masters and for all future events we, the Millennium Board, wish to appoint a Disciplinary Committee.

I do not want a commitee full of Pro players, I want a fair selection of players from all ranks. Please email me at niall.squire@virgin.net.

We the organisers of the events must not get involved.

Thanks

Niall

I would respectfully suggest that no pro players sit on the disciplinary board !!!!

I too would like to know the difference between a disciplinary committee and a rules committee.

Ultimately one question I have is, would the promoters enforce the rules on what are their paying customers? So often we see rules slide because of various reasons. And some don't always seem to be applied fairly because of who they NEED to be applied to...

It's going to be a long haul but we do need to try and work towards a separate judging and ruling body in my opinion.

Rules need to be applied the same to Novice, Am and PRO... and they need to be enforced or as we see they become a joke and people lose respect.

It takes some balls to stand up and enforce the rules properly.

Im fully with you on that one!!!

P.S. There should be a rule against PRO teams milking the AM division for sponsors/results. *cough"Trauma"cough*
That way ppl who DESERVE Sponsorship will never have it because those ppl......

Agreement on some things...

I agree that the committee should be both rules/enforcement - you can't have one without the other.

It will also have to be completely independant of the organizers. The only thing the organizers should be worrying about is how to put on the best possible tournaments - using the rules that have been developed by this committee. No outside interferance should be tolerated, it shouldn't matter who throws a gun - just how quickly punishment is delivered.

There should also be a system set up to keep everyone informed of decisions (hey the web might be a perfect manner) and how they will affect people/teams.

Lastly I feel that the committee should be un-biased, that means if a "pro" player can't make a fair decision in regards to other pros then they shouldn't sit on the committee. As a matter of fact this should also extent to members of his/her team. If one of my teammates did something dumb (a certain episode in Sweden comes to mind) then I wouldn't have any problems hitting him with a penalty.

heh there were a public humiliating place on the web

I think it was called www.theref.net, it had all the cheaters and all the pictures proving them doing the nasty on the field.

too bad its gone there were some well known names :))

Whalepumper...

... the one thing the rules/disciplinary committee should NOT be is a group out to humiliate players or second guess judges.

Their job should only take place in between tournaments, either in the form of reviewing rules - and possibly making changes for the next tournament, and handing out any suspensions/fines that are warranted from the previous tournament.

If anything is done "during tournament play" it should be handled by the field refs/field ultimate and then series ultimate. If there needs clarification on the rules then someone from the committee can be consulted but I am sure that the committee and the ultimate should be of the same mind & soul when it comes to interpretation of the rules.

As far as hanging players out for cheating etc. that is not something that has any place from the organizations point. Who wipes and gets away with it has nothing to do with the over all rules.

I agree w. your point. I just said that there were a place like this and who knows that what good could a "List" accomplish in the hand of a pro Ref organization.
IMHO the best would be that the sponsors would kick their teams for proven cheating, after all it hurts them too..
