Hi All,

Am selling off a load of kit that I haven't used in ages (see here http://p8ntballer-forums.com/threads/for-sale-05-ego-ego-spares-barrels-inc-for-tipp98-jt-goggles-halo-more.143470/ shameless self-advertising).

Part of the kit (which is NOT for sale I hasten to add) is an out of date 1.1l carbon fibre tank. I agree completely with the policy of not selling out-of-test tanks, in fact I also think that should extend to used goggle lenses, safety first. The tank is flawless though, and has had about 1.5k psi sat in it for 2 years, and I have no doubt it will pass a HPAC. However by the time I've paid shipping and the £40 fee, I'll probably only be selling it at £50 so wouldn't make a profit. Seems a shame to just chuck it away, any ideas as to what to do with it? Am considering just giving it away, but I'd be tempted to say that's just as dangerous as selling it. Short of trying to use it in a sculpture, anything I can do other than chuck it away?

Cheers, Russ

As you've quit paintball you wouldn't have the option of saving postage by dropping off the bottle with HPAC and picking up at another event. Thus only paying the test fee.

You can check dive shops who can arrange testing, probably costing you £25/£30

When tested the sale value will effectively be relevant to the remaining life (to the 15 year expiry date)

It would be a waste to dispose of the bottle, so if you have a 'trusted' paintballer you could pass it on to them on the basis that they put it to test.

As long as it gets to the tester the worse that can happen is a failure and the test fee is gone.
