Hello and good day/night to all,

let me start with a quick introduction. My friends and i are going to start "Paintballing" this summer. We've played around with organisations and there gear u can loan for X euro, but we decided to buy our own stuff since we go rather frequently.
Now, as "often" as we went, we dont know that much about paintball markers brands etc etc. So we were looking around on the internet trying to see what fits us.

Now we narrowed our choice down to a comple options, and i was hoping, anyone (you) could have a look and give us some tips or hints saying, its rubbish or what ever.

Tippmann 98 Custom Platinum Series Paintball Gun - Powerpack - Semi-Auto

this was 1 of our choices.

The second i came across was this:
JT Tactical Ready to Play Kit - Black

I am aware of the gas can from the second marker is alot smaller and cant be refilled, but even when i buy a differant tank, i think im getting more stuff and stuff thats good enough for a rookie then the first one.

Please help me out :D

would be appriciated.

Hope to hear from you and im excited to become a member of your community!

Cheers.
May.

These are some quite cheap packages, you will realise after a while the only decent thing in them is the Marker. Things in there you will most likely want to upgrade in a very short amount of time are the Mask (to a Thermal type), and the bottle (alot of sites don't use CO2 so a HPA Bottle will be needed quickly)

All of this relatively necessary stuff will probably set you back around £100 for fairly decent kit. So overall you may be better in the long run to get everything seperately. Or if you are on a tight budget I would recommend looking at second hand equipment on forums such as this, although by your currency I am guessing you are not from the UK, whereas the majority of this site are. ;D

agree with bojjob. i would recommend keeping an eye on the 'for sale' sections in forums such as this, talk paintball and ukscenario.

as for a marker, i would suggest looking for a standard BT4 or Tippman A5 as they have lots of possible upgrades such as the electronic grip, ripclip and cyclone feeds which people are known to throw in cheap in trades.

a BT4 with a ripclip and e-grip can fire up to a sweet 13 balls per second (if i remember rightly) enough to impress your friends! ; )
