We’re into November and THE event of the year is just days away! The 2006 World Cup will be held November 7th-12th at Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex. With over 350 teams from all over the nation and around the world competing for over $137,000 in cash prizes, this event will be without a doubt the largest in the world!

The World Cup will kick-off on Tuesday, November 7th with the first-ever Intercontinental Cup. Four of the top NXL teams will compete against four of the top European teams from the CPL. The teams will compete in a single elimination format throughout the day. Winners will advance on to the next round and losers go home.

The fiercest competition on the planet will then continue as Xball divisional play begins on Wednesday. The Masters Division will also premiere for the first time at a PSP event. The division will feature players forty years of age and over including some of the sports legendary names such as Bob Long, Lane Wright and Robert ‘Rosie’ Rose.

The first showdowns between the NXL teams will take place on our showcase field beginning Wednesday as well. These teams are battling it out for the gold and glory of seventy five thousand dollars in cash and the series Championship title. This is Xball at its best. This is what it’s all about. No thirty second games, no stalemates, no fluke victories. Each match is an hour filled to capacity with great moves, unbelievable shots, and vicious run-throughs. With competition this intense you won’t want to take your eyes off the game for a second!

To make sure you don’t miss out on the best competition and fiercest battles of the year, make sure to grab a seat early at our showcase field. Grandstand wristbands will be available for seating Friday through Sunday. Access to the grandstands will only be possible with a valid grandstand wristband on these days. Pricing will be $10 a day or $25 for all three. Wristbands may be purchased onsite at the Grandstand Seating Tent located next to the showcase field starting Wednesday.

In case you’ve missed the registration deadline, you have one more chance to take place in the largest event on the planet. Our D2 5-man division will remain open for registration both online and onsite at the event until Thursday, November 9th. This is the only 5-man division that is open to players that are also playing XBall at the event. Preliminaries will be played on Saturday with quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals to follow into Sunday. Please note that while the D2 5-man preliminary round will not conflict with XBall, it is possible for later rounds of D2 5-man to overlap with XBall finals. No adjustments or refunds will be made for conflicting schedules resulting from players playing both XBall and D2 5-man.

In addition to all the on-field action, the World Cup features the largest trade show in the industry. Everyone who is anyone will be in attendance as vendors pull out the latest and greatest products for this massive event. From playing gear to casual wear and everything in between you can find it all here.

As though the event itself isn’t jammed-packed with enough good stuff, the official players’ party of the 2006 World Cup will take place on Friday, November 10th at Sun on the Beach in Old Town. A popular favorite with players, the evening is sure to be full of friends and good times. There will be drink specials offered all night long for everyone involved. Come join us at the Beach for a party you will not want to miss!

The World Cup is THE event of the year for competitors, spectators, vendors and everyone involved in the sport of paintball. It is one definitely not to miss! For more information on this world-class event please visit www.pspevents.com. We look forward to seeing everyone at Disney!

sorry if you have already made a thread about this Keely, but is there going to be live webcasts like the NPPL Commanders cup event?
