Uni paintball in the UK will not contribute to the pool of 'high caliber paintball players' for quite a while I feel.
TBH nobody cares about uni paintball in the slightest apart from the students themselves, and there's very few paintballing students to begin with, let alone enough for there to be 5 or 7 all at one uni with enough initiative, drive, determination and patience to become a top paintball team.
If you really want to play at a higher level you'd be better off training with a team outside of uni where there would be more like minded ballers who really want to improve, and preferably in an environment with a decent coach and people who know what they're on about in regard to training.
It all depends what you want really. If you just want to piss about, train a bit, have some fun, nothing serious, keep cobwebs off then uni paintball all the way. If you want to continue to progress and move forward in the tourney scene (in UK, Europe, eventually the States, whatever) then your probably better off making the effort to go train with a descent team external to uni.
Either way, I hope this is a small factor in your decision.
What you hoping to study?
