Stakos Illegal in Millennium Series!

:)
seriously tho,
if you`d heard of 13 cases of brake failures on the make of car you drive, you`d have serious concerns wouldnt you, you cant just say ohh! well my brakes look ok, you`d be round the main dealers pronto
Hmm, My colleague bought a girly peugeot convertable, and that got recalled after 11 months due to loads of people brakes failing...

So as a "precaution" they recalled all of the first models and "checked them" - They actually replaced the whole front brake system on his car.... Still looks girly though:eek:

So it does happen. Not saying that this Stako situation isnt an issue of course as peoples general safety is paramount, but the motor press didnt shout out "hey dont drive these cars - you might get killed"

However, I agree that they should be stopped being used until light has been shed on why these bottles were pulled by H-PAC. I'll still use mine though if training will allow them to be filled as its been perfectly fine so far after 8 months of weekly use so im angling to the opinion that it may just have been a dodgy batch - I might be completely wrong but i'd be interested to find out what the real issue is with these "13" bottles.

I just think H-PAC should have said that they would suspend the use of them until further investigations were carried out as opposed as an "all out ban" approach, but thats just my opinion. **EDIT** Oh they did lol my bad! :s

Its okay Milky, he just likes to post! (says me!)

It sounds like im backing Stako up here which isnt my intentions i assure you, but im just surprised that no one has posted up here before saying their Stako was leaking, not like they have just been released is it - just a quick search on here has shown no issues being raised on here then all of a sudden, bam, issues appear!.

If it had I would have seriously considered not buying one or even allowing my son and others to use them as lets face it, as a community if something stinks it generally gets a wafting around our forums. :(

as for the stako issue, if they are saying that its the liner inflating on the inside that push's out the air inbetween it and the shell.. how the hell does it leak so much  as there cant be that much air inbetween the two layers??

Mine started leaking late last year, Manufacture date 06.2006. (Got it around sept and was leaking by nov)
It was one of a batch imported by Iron Lions from Skill Paintball (think their a polish shop that handles european distribution of Stako's).

First thing i notices was a few days after an event it was empty when i know their was 3500+ psi in it when i'l left the event. I filled it to 1500psi from a dive tank and that's when i heard a leak, i took that video which scared the s@#t out of me and imediatly emptied the tank.

Edwin from Iron Lions was informed as they were using/selling tanks bought at the same time, he reported that they had NOT had any similar issues and gave me contact details for Skill Paintball.
After many attempts at getting any kind of response out of skill i ended up with a scrap tank which is still here.

Ended up buying another stako from planet so i'm now out of pocket by around £300 and have 2 useless tanks
