Statement re: Stako Tanks
Please be advised that in relation to the current situation and recent events in Germany relating to Stako compressed air tanks, London International Paintball Supplies Ltd would like to make the following statement.
As a UK retailer, whilst we accept no liability for any alleged safety issues relating to the manufacture of Stako tanks we are sure that Stako will resolve any issues surrounding their product to the satisfaction of all concerned. Stako have made it perfectly clear in their announcement that they believe their product is still safe and we have not been made aware by Stako or their representatives that a product recall is necessary at this time.
The safety of event participants is of paramount importance and we accept the standpoint of the Millennium series and H-Pac and suspect that UK events may also prohibit the use of Stako tanks until the issues are resolved. It is not clear however, what timescale can be applied to the resolution of these issues. It is also unclear what procedures if any, will need to be conducted to confirm the operating integrity of each individual tank. It is obvious that whatever needs to be done will take considerable time.
Evidently, a considerable number of players will be unable to continue playing due to the financial constraints of purchasing alternative tanks. We feel that this is an unfair and unacceptable penalisation of our customers.
Customers who have purchased Stako tanks from LiPS Ltd are eligible for either a full refund or an alternative product for one that is not currently prohibited from use in the Millennium Series or at UK domestic events. We have searched our records and have all the details of the customers involved and will be confirming the above in writing to all of them in due course.
We should like to take this opportunity to wish Stako all the very best and hope that the situation is resolved to the satisfaction of all concerned as soon as possible.
We stress again that this is NOT an official product recall and is simply a decision taken to allow our customers to continue playing.
