Is the air truck going to be there giving us the suer air fills? There is no mention of this on the site, but there was talk of it at the previous leg.

Air

It will be there - not sure on the deal
a) charge all teams a fee
b) Charge £20 for 25 tokens as per last event. (Normally £25 but susidised bt Series 2002)

Views?

The reason I ask is at the last event we had the air truck and I sold tokens as per option B and only half the teams attending used the air - therefore the costs were not covered (Series 2002 paid the difference)

Next year air will be at all events and included in the game fee along with personal accident insurance.

Next years dates will be posted in 7 days time

I get the nasty feeling that not all the teams that used the air, bought tokens (though I know my lot always does). I also don't like the token idea as I like to top up my tank even if it's still got a fair amount of air in it, & I don't want to have to "use up" one of the team's limited number of tokens for a 1k top up.
I've always felt it was a bit odd that many tourneys charged extra for air but not for CO2 - maybe it's time for the game fee to cover all types of gas used as we all need to use something anyway.

as this is going to be the case for the next series anyway, maybe offer a discount to teams that are only using CO2??
Is CO2 really that much cheaper than air? I would have thought especially now we have the compressor guys it would work out at about the same.

Option

Nick

That is where the problem is at present some teams don't feel they should pay the extra because the bring their own tanks, or they are on CO2. That is why next year it will be included in the game fee and if teams want to bring there own they can but will still pay for the H pac service.

This year we set the game fees at the start of the year and therefore have opted not to increase them part way thro' the year to cover air. The current game fee includes CO2, personal accident cover, tickets to the end of season bash ( subject to a certian number of legs being played), UKPSF membership, and a raffle for entry into two events (again subjext to qualifing legs)

Next year it will be different and that is why we are offering the two options and series 2002 subsidising the air filling

CO2

Liz

CO2 is a lot cheaper than air.

The "old" days of one CO2 per team are long gone, even at STB we only used 4-5 CO2 in two days, cost about £50. The air costs £1175 for one day. That is why we have to charge for the service. Next year it will be included in the game fee (Incidentally the game fees will still be £30 a player and include nearly all the extras supplied this year)

OK, I was thinking it was probably not much different per 1000 balls but I know that tons more people use air rather than CO2 now.

I'll see you Saturday afternoon at Kidderminster - promised to help Gillie that afternoon if I get there reasonably early. It's gonna be a goodie!:)

Thanks for the reply Bully. Thought I was going to have to dig out the diving cylinders then! I cannot see why people want to bring their own air. The weight and space the tanks take up, usually mean we have to take an extra car. This is stupid when it would be much cheaper, easier and less stressful to use the air supplied by the H pac truck.

I think you should go with option A, but if you had to cover the costs last time and forsee this happening again this leg, go with the tokens again. We did'nt use all of ours last time, just a shame we did'nt save them!

Next year sounds amazing, and the move towards supplying the high pressure air at the tourneys, and all of the extras included in the game fee just makes it much better value! Roll on Series 2003 (but before that,, the last leg and the presentation party......a-hem, presentation EVENING :D )
