Air travel & paintball equipment???

My team (S.M.K. Goblins) is going to start playing international tourneys and since we havent traveled with our equipment befoe,i would like to know if you guys have any problems with carrying your stuff.What do you usually do when you have to travel by plane?

take all regs off air tanks so they are completely open.
put all pball related stuff in the hold
tell the check in desk - they will probably get you to scan your luggage through seperately
put a couple of mags in your bags in case they get opened when you aren't there.

That has caused us no problems at all so far

Thanks Beaker! Do you happen to know if the regulators from screw in tanks can be taken off and then back on when you get off the plane?

I presume it depends on the manufacturer - send them an e-mail explaining what you need to do and I would have thought they would be helpful.

make sure all the air is dumped out of the bottle
screw the bottle off and keep it separate from the rest of the gear

check everything into the hold

if checkin start getting nervous, tell them you cleared it with the airline the day before - this has worked for me twice. it's the bottle they're mainly worried about, emphasise it is air and not oxygen

make sure you have some sort of travel insurance in case something disappears or gets stolen
