powerball is ok because its nice and cheap. just choose a low quality shell and fill as tourney paint is like twice as expensive so not worth it for recball.

Wow....
choose a low quality shell and fill
sounds like the worst advice I have ever heard. Some paint is inexpensive and also pretty damn good. You choose a Low Quality Shell and squeegee all day long. That's sounds like a bigger waste of cash !! Some Rec balls are cheaper because they do not have the brighter, harder to wipe fills and slightly thicker shells so it's easier to make. Check out the Menace/Rampage from RPS. But it depends on how deep your pocket is. I would always say buy the best paint you can afford.

all depends mate, take the best paint and store it badly and its turns ****

see what ure local site has, ask to test it, see how it goes thru ure gun

all personal preference and depends on tha gun also

Nelson hotspot is a good rec-ball paint. Use it in my impy / ion with no problems at all. Also challenger and pearl. Draxus is also a safe bet.

Mid evil is also very good but a little bit more money.

As noted above, it all depends on what your budget will allow.

steer clear of non branded site paint, it is the cheapest of the cheap!!
