im pretty sure no one here would pause in the situation of rioters or whatever breaking into to their house to burn it down, rob it etc and think " hmmm should i shoot him or would this give the sport a bad name? " or if they had a baseball bat "should i hit him with it or would this give baseball a bad name " and so on...

Don't do it. "Reasonable force" and the effect it may have on the sport outweigh the possible benefits.

I say police should use markers in riot control. Theyre using rubber bullets which have the same/more damage potential than paint, and paint has added benefit of marking them for arrest.

I say use means as needed, including your gat. Just try to aim for centre mass

The Israeli's use paintball guns as a non-lethal weapon.

Remember a year or so ago when they choppered onto a ship that was trying to break a maritime blockade? There is video and pics on the net showing that initially they were using paintball guns when they first landed on the ships. I've no idea what they were loaded with.

Wasn't long before they switched to their real weapons and started slotting the Turks on board mind you........

why would you use a paintball gun anyway? baseball or cricket bats are much easier to use and much more effective.. spades are handy when theres limited space, as are chairs if the intruder has a knife

Yeh if there is just one, and I don't know about anyone else bit I don't leave my marker setup with paint in it so I would have to ask them nicely to sit down while I get my marker ready but that could just be me

i keep mine set up all the time, not for the reason that we're talking about, but i just leave it set up and my pods of paint are right next to it along with all my other kit so i mean if it had to actually come to it, would take maybe 10 seconds to set up? switch on, air up and put a pod of paint in
