im thinking about getting a proto backpacker, are they worth it, or would a normal back pack be better?

Depends on your budget the big hold all ones from all paintball kit makers are expensive normally in the region of 100 quid, but the big advantage is that they do have special areas to hold certain things, can hold plenty of kit, pack, pots, markers, etc etc etc without any fuss.

Just comes down to how much you can spend and how practical it is

i dont see the point in paying extortionat prices for a bag when you can just get a cheap one that does the job. but i guess bags from paintball dealers give your equipment more protection

i was looking at the proto because it holds the gun fully assembled (barrel/gas/ASA). do you guys take your guns in their boxes and assemble them at the site, or carry them in playing condition?

Everyone I know takes them separately and assembles at the site. I keep my marker in one of the Dye marker cases for good padding/protection and the hopper & tank separate in the kitbag.

The proto backpacks are the shizz mate, I got one about 5 months ago used it to carry all my kit fully assambled to the site even has its own barrel sock in the front which is handy
Now i bought NXE MASSIVE Roller
BUT Never-the-less the proto bag is awesome for one day shoots except mine goes to school with me now and still somehow looks brand new
Dead comfy.
