Rich has been on pbnation asking for any players/teams who could play as xsv in the first two events. Check the xsv forum.
This is exactly why I dont agree with it.
It makes the whole CPL a joke.

Magued.
Of course you earned your spot and I understand why you are playing in both leagues. My issue is with the Leagues not the teams. There is no need to be so agressive.

Sorry

If I came out to aggressive Jeff.
Teams play 2 legues or series in alot of sports. Premiership and cups. If we take soccer we play the series, the domestic cup and international cups and nations cup all in the same year.

The problem here is that they have put the same dates in. It would be like having a world cup qualification game in the same date as a champion legue game.

Its stupid and makes little sense for anybody other than the weaker teams that see there chance to have a easier opponent.

Chigaco - We didnt buy the tickets for the same date, they changed the depature date after we bought the tickets.

No worries Magued.

I can see your point of view but these two Leagues are just that 2 different Leagues. The rules for qualification are essentially the same for each league and are mutually exclusive.

That is to say... You dont qualify to play the NPPL by coming top 3 in your Domestic League (Millennium) and vice versa.

The Champions League in Soccer does require that and they fit there fixtures in and around the domestic fixtures for each team involved.

So I believe my initial analogy of Premiership vs Bundesliga holds more weight than Premiership vs Champions League.#

FFS, the problem is obvious..we got two main leagues in which top Euro teams attend, the NPPL and the Millennium.

We as teams rely on the commonsense notion that both leagues will work out dates that DO NOT coincide.

This has been done in the past and it has managed to work albeit it gets a bit close sometimes with proximity of dates.

Now, what we really have here is not any of the team's fault nor any of the respective structures or importance of each league but for whatever reason, we have a clash of dates.
There is absolutely no justification whatsoever in making the team's pay a penalty just because somebody else fcuked up.

The premise for both leagues is to have the top teams contest against each other, if the Millennium board then mandate an exclusion principle on the basis of an event being missed, this is outright lunacy and totally unfair.
Of course we need an exclusion mandate for teams who might not be able to field a full squad or run out of resources but this is not the same situation, this probblem has been caused by the leagues themselves and not the teams.
You cannot penalise the teams on this basis.

I can see this position being engineered by some people for their own ends but trust me on this one, I don't give a sh1t about any of them because if I feel my team, or Magued's (I don't give a **** about XSV) is being manouevred for other people's interests then I won't be keeping my mouth shut.

I am sick and fcukin tired of people telling me, 'Pete, I realise it's not your fault but.....'

Fair enough Pete but what is your opinion on those 3 teams fielding sub-standard squads or a bunch of random players sourced from the internet as XSV appear to be considering?

On another note. What would you think Sponsors would feel about one of those "reserve" teams getting bashed all over the place because the core of the team is playing elsewhere?

I am not trying to start wars here, I am just interested in opinions on what appears to be an interesting situation, not only for the 3 teams mentioned but for the other teams in the leagues and the leagues themselves.

It's an absolute disgrace that Nexus and Joy are being asked to field a substitute squad here because it immediately sentences the points gained to be below what it would otherwise have been had the real squad entered.

I as team owner and all my sponsors can't be happy with the way this has been mandated.
And thus there is no way at present these teams, through no fault of their own are gonna get out of this without being penalised.
If we do enter with substitute squads, our position is gonna be a false one and if we don't enter, we lose our spot.

The fair compromise should be that if you wanna put a squad in then cool, put one in, if you don't wanna put a sqaud in, then just average out the four remaining events and allocate those points to that first event.

It sounds simple because it is simple, it sounds fair because it is fair.

It's even worse for euro teams imo as teams like XSV can simply adjust the roster and training cycle and still field a strong team. Euro teams with the same dual role problem have a smaller base of players to choose from. Seems a bit ironic for euro teams to be forced onto the backfoot on their home turf.

Why do it....

Why not just count the top 4 scores for everyone over the course of the season? That would at least minimize the impact of having a substitute sqaud at the first event.

Still a problem for XSV though.

Taking the top 4 scores then devalues the year's efforts of all the other teams by ignoring 20% of the year's scores.
It makes much more sense to even out the scores of one, maybe two teams who could be affected as against coming up with a device that would affect 14 or 15 others.

All this is a lesser of evils, it's not a difficult choice at all and you would have thought people would have arrived at the obvious solution already but..........

This particular problem has a few layers to it and the longer this situation goes on, the more layers will be exposed...that's all I am gonna say at the moment but rest assured, whatever may come outa my mouth will be 100% truthful........
Already. I have been witness to subterfuge and deception .. we'll see what else crawls out the woodwork before this matter comes to an end.
