I just bought a pmr of here, i tryed to turn it on but nothing happened. I noticed how fragile the wiring from the board to the battery was and the wiring casing had come apart, i went to take the battery out and there it the wires snapped, how much will a board cost?
I don't want to tell my dad he'll be fuming. Gotta do it secretly, thanks.

ring back the people you bought it off. They should be able to help you out, if you have just taken it out of the box and the wires wern't soldered on properly then its covered by the warrenty.

It wasn't your fault if it wasn't soldered on properly, so get your dad to send it back once you'v rang the guys u bought it off

not everyone has a soldering iron

if those wires came dodgy and you never knew bout it, pm the person who sold you it and they should buy you the new board or whatever it is. dont accept dodgy goods.

if not, their is a paypal option in which, im sure, you can get a small refund for dodgy goods if he doesnt want to get the board replaced.

although as ive said, you can ONLY do this if you never knew the condition and if it came damaged

I think... and I'm going from memory here, that you can't just buy a battery harness with two way plug to go into the board. I think the battery harness is connected into a 4 way plug which also feeds into the trigger or solenoid or something like that. You can get these replacement harnesses no bother for a few quid or if someone at Dye / Proto is feeling generous, possibly nought.

If you intend to get a standard 9V battery harness and just snip the wires, and re-attached using solder, then RS sell these harnesses for silly money.

On a sympathetic note, I bought a used PM7 form the forums and it was sold as in good condition and proper working order being recently serviced for the sale. When it arrived I had to use a dental pick to get all the mud out of the screws in order to get it open, and it was clear it hadnt been looked at recently. To cap it off the eyes werent working. If I hadnt got it for a good price I would have gone mental. One friendly Dye Gun Tech later and a good clean and all was good. Sometimes it's easier to sort these things out yourself than messing around.

if the seller didnt tell you the wired were dodgey then you can definately ask him to buy the board for it. but be careful how you say this to him as it may sound as your degrading him as a seller and that wouldnt go down well.
if not go for the paypal route.

cheers

It has nothing to do with the board, its just the wires connecting to the plug on the board, there should be four wires....two go to the battery two go to the microswitch. Thas it.
