Yes basically what Phillip said good site very refreshingly different page graphics, but the size of the files is way too large. Give people the option to have a basic HTML site to visit. The gallery should be split into seperate ones ok they are when all eventually loaded but.... you obviously have some real tasty server deal to get the videos etc but most all sites that load slow (most flash sites) will put people right off we don't all have the benifit (money) of broadband or even live in a area that we can actually use it. I didn't notice the text spilling over into the "wood" but then you may have fixed that when I got to see the site (plus I don't have a 19" plus screen). I do like the site, just in case you thought I was being totally negative :D

great site sonny

take no notice of the cheap skate 56k boys..:D this site kicks....broadband is what makes the net alive, and makes your site stand out above the others.had to laugh about your first tourney:D ...........sounded a bit like my teams first time out...to the letter just about:D ...keep on balling it will come,it did for us.

Vodka Kid sites should be designed with the majority in mind, most all successful sites have a fast load option...whats the point in designing something only a minority can view properly, does everyone have a ADSL, T1, Cable connection with a P4 /Athlon XP2100 hanging on the end with a Ti4600 and a 21" screen? Think how many people are still using Win95 or lower still with an 8meg graphics card, 14" screen and a 56k modem
K.I.S.S.

Not saying Broadband isn't good, I can get it where I live (one of the lucky ones and I can afford it) don't use the net enough to rerun the internal cabling plus the bump in cost for something I don't have a need for, mainly as I don't play games on my PC or download music/videos/films. Speed and spec wise my PC is not too far below the top of the food chain but my original post was "constructive " critisism (spelling?) all PC mags will advise you to ensure that your site loads quickly and the graphics are optimised and that it is easy to navigate. A lot of hard work has gone into the site that started this thread off and a little tweaking and the world will be able to share in it...right now the world is just those that have time on their hands and those with broadband...not huge numbers...

whatever floats your boat, at least I gave a balanced answer :D
How many sites have you designed...and what kind of hit ratio do they have and how many search engines can you find your grand design on?

Oh, and everything Mark said was correct, cos most of the UK is still on 56k, i cant get broadband in my area....have thought of getting a business line, but that means a 6" pipeline going through my wall.

There is plenty of images reduces on the net that wont effect the quality, but will halve the file size.

I almost turned away as soon as i saw the comment about using broadband. I only carried on because he was asking us for comments.

hmm i thought i wrote an answer to mark of the cougars. maybe the mod removed it? i'll promise to shut up after this one :)

philip: why does the splash annoy you? just curious. we like the splash. we're just a bunch of morons. our goal is not to be taken seriously (hence, the ugly ugly short narrow ties ;) ).

vodka kid: hehe..

mark: i really appreciate your thoughts. thats the reason i posted this thread. to get various feedback. as for the heavy graphics... i agree with you all the way. but, we wanted to do something different from all the other paintball related sites around. and since we're just a novice team with a minimal audience we felt like doing it all the way. we're not like, Yahoo, who has to think of all their zillion visitors. we really thought most people were on broadband by now. are we wrong? anyway, we'll do a light version too i guess.

if i had to do a site for, say, Dye or WGP (they need one!) i'd do it different of course. but still try to kick some ass. in some way. pleasing every kind of visitor ;)
