I wonder why this rule didnt apply for this year?
Might I hazard a guess that it's because the two leagues are not playing towards the same playoff, and thus there's no risk a player might find himself playing himself at the end of the season (not that intercontinental post-season play ever actually happened....)

Also possibly, that was three years ago and people have short memories?

Exactly - the M7 is not part of X-Ball..... but a format in it's own right.

That having been said, it is just insane how many NXL players are guesting for M7 teams this year, and I frankly think it is destroying the league.

Standings would have been MUCH different, hand nobody been allowed to field players rostered with another team - in any major league.

I think that Magued is dead right on this one.

Not especially because I think that NXL American players shouldn't be accepted but because there were so many people speaking against Alex playing back then when it was the EXL, but now I suppose because alot more teams have acess to american Pro Players, they all think it's okay to do it.

Mag, I seem to remember I had two main problems with him playing in the EXL and they were :-

a) He was just too damned good looking to be allowed to go to an event where I was attending.
And for those who do not know, I ain't no fag, or even leaning towards fagdom, Alex was (and is) one of those supermodel guys who was the boss model, and I think Calvin Klein model with his mug plastered over many men's magazines etc. He also dated Cameron Diaz .... I'll say no more.. and

b) On a technical point, he couldn't end up playing for two teams that potentially could have been in the same competition. I think this is a common sense preclusion.

As for the present state of affairs in the CPL?

It sucks ....but it also brings up the level of play in the Millennium ... some may say to an artificial level but all the time the sport hasn't matured into any sort of cohesive professional body then don't go expecting any league to behave in a way that is also consistent with this principle.

Magued:

You seem to think someone went out of their way to fcuk you over... that was never the case.

It WOULD have been a completely weird situation, if a player go to play for two different teams, in what was essentially the same league, with 2 different conferences.

You can't in the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB - og whatever - so why should you be able to in paintball?

Put it another way... if you think it was unfair back then - that would mean you now think it is fair for all kinds of NXL players to guest in the M7??

No nick. I dont think they went out of the way to fcuk me over ( but I know alot of chicks that have done that ) But Im just pointing out the fact that people are changing position on issues as long as it fits them. Witch is something I really have a issue with.

Nick im getting the impression that youre not reading my posts before you answer them.

1. People are allowed to play in 2 different teams and run the same risk as in EXL if they play CPL. As the intention clearly was/is to have the top 4 CPL teams play against NXL teams in some kind of inter continental cup

2. I clearly stated in my post that I DONT have a problem with the US players playing CPL???? You didnt really read my post did you?

A do have a problem with all those that had a problem with Alex playing with us in EXL and now field US NXL players... coughlaurentcough
