the human eye is the most innacurate method of measurement possible. It's taught to recognise patterns where there are none and to fill in the gaps. It's proven wrong by so many basic tests and examples... let me find one for you...

Go look at this and using your own eyes count the black dots for me...

http://eyetricks.com/0101.gif

or tell us if this one is a spiral...

or which centre dot is bigger...

Now tell me your eyes don't play tricks on themselves... and are forced to do so by your minds perception. When you pay £2000 for a marker your mind wants it to shoot farther and more accurately... so that's what you see...

If you want me to believe anything when it comes to paintball dynamics then you need to come up with a lot more proof than 'I saw it'... :D

Manike, what are you a parrot ?
I just said as much in a previous post !!
But then again, they do day, 'imitation is the sincerest form of flattery' ... :)

Never claimed to have proof. Only claimed observed phenomena which may or may not be errant

And by dismissing the entire thing out of hand without experiment you're surely a lot more guilty of violating the scientific method than I

I haven't done a bench-test and neither, I'd guess, have you :)

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong no problem. I'm just a little bit less certain that I know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but. To draw an analogy Please remember that they thought Newtonian Mechanics was the whole thing until Relativity came along

And we haven't even got a unified field theory yet!

Skepticism is the hand-maiden of science

If you wanna know a bit more about Descartes try this

I don't think I'll bother getting drawn into this somewhat mix and match philosophical/mathematical/scientific/existentialist/cognition argument I'll go back to work instead :D

Nope but where as you are willing to just spout forth I go looking for proof and evidence to back up my posts :) means It takes me a little longer to type my replies than it does yours (either that or you've been taking typing lessons as well as sitting on Rancids knee and taking dictation...).

Took me ages to find those damn images :) (I still didn't find the one I wanted) and all the other replies jumped in before I hit the 'post' button. T'was only 5 mins between posts...

Hotpoint, I have actually done bench tests :) many of them, between a lot of different guns. I've also spoken with others that have done the same and been allowed to see and discuss real data looking at the ballistics and firing situations of many markers. Nice bluff but no cigar :)

Hotpoint, now why didn't you just put your hands in the air and surrender ?
I mean, questioning 'cause and effect' is one thing but trying to substantiate your rebuttal with 'random' arguments and perpetual loop universes is just a tad bit embarrassing.
Leastwise in my universe it is :)
Why surrender? Haven't lost. Please refute what I said

As for the second part of what I said, "Cause" is fundamentally Beginning and "Effect" is End. Just bought up cosmology because most theological discusions relating to the existance of God end up there anyway

We may be in different universes after all!

And to return to paintball "Pigmento Ergo Sum" :D

Under what circumstances... ?

Give me a finite set of conditions and I will give you an answer. There is no definite answer for in general play though because it's not possible to lock down the conditions of general play.
