Both Ultimate and LTZ are good, young teams.

LTZ started two years ago winning the PSP Rookie 5-Man series as well as the NPPL S7 Rookie 7-Man series. Last year, they bumped to DII X-Ball and DII 7-Man - again winning both series. In the off-season they picked up Mike Paxson from Chicago Aftershock (who formerly was LTZ's coach) and Riley Sullivan from Oakland Assassins...with these two additions and some politicing they managed to skip DI altogther and go straight to the NXL in PSP and Semi-Pro in NPPL.

Ultimate started three years ago playing Rookie 5-Man in PSP. They bumped to DII X-Ball in 2004 and did quite well...so well, that they decided to bump to DI X-Ball at World Cup that same year...and placed 2nd. In 2005 they bumped to Open X-Ball. Even though they won only one match last year (against Outlaws - with two guest Arsenal players - a team that hasn't been heard from since), they put up some good fights taking Infamous and Naughty Dogs to sudden death overtime during the season.

As for equipment, LTZ is DYE sponsored and are enjoying a similar deal to Nexus, Aftershock and Ironmen this year...with custom DYE jerseys and an LTZ custom DM6 in the works.

Ultimate was Smart Parts powered for the last few years...although I've heard they switched to E-cockers (Black Magic's I presume) this year after Smart Parts dropped them.

Are you suggesting that some of these young kids who have been given free Paintball and a chance to travel round the country and mix with notorious reprobates, may just be pretending to stay away from wine, women and song in order to stay on their teams and not risk the wrath of their God-fearing team owners?

Surely such a thing could never happen...

after reading PGI, I would be inclined to agree with you, of course.

However, after speaking to a SoCal pro captain who practiced them 2/3 weeks ago, I would say you should probably print an ammendment in the next issue, just so's you don't look too silly...

For the record, I would guess that when Barts (LTZ, not PP) daughter finds boys, the team will dissolve into thin air and are already living on borrowed time.

Just a guess of course, and yes, they are a good solid team and will be no pushovers IF they can avoid penalties...
