Goose, you say that the rules state that you are eliminated only if shot by paint from another marker...
Is this accurate?? I ask because at the Campaign Cup we had a player eliminated when he shot himself in the foot with his own marker. He was eliminated immediately by a marshal from Team Cumshot who saw it happen.

Nope - a tag is a tag is a tag. Tagged by an opponent or tagged by yourself it's all the same thing.

We had a player over here at NZ cleaning his barrel out, turned his marker upside down to dryfire it a couple of time, and shot himself in the hand .... poor *******, but funny as heck to watch (as a ref).

hmmm

thats messed up reality wise and rule wise.... u should be able to play even if u shoot ur foot but it counts.... in real life ud blow ur foot off. and as for throwing it it should count cause u did mark them but i never heard of any one killing any one else by throwing bullets

Geeze Sytrax, this isn't war or real guns or 'real life'... it's the sport/game of paintball and we are NOT trying to simulate what would happen if you were shot in real life.

In fact far from it. We are producing a hi-tech adrenalin team sport. The greater distinctions that we can make, from war and real weapons and bullets, the better in my opinion.

took it wrong

naw u took it wrong im saying that they use real life situations to detirmin the rules like being shot in the foot or throwing paint balls

Yo wee mouse...

... first off - love the name.

Second, this is what I get when I try to type and think at the same time (also when tired). I should learn that I can't do both.

What I meant in that post was:
People where getting on the rules in regards to a ref pulling a player - for paint from his bunker - then putting him back in. They said this was wrong, but I chimed in saying that I think that on something as easily correctable as this, I think the judge should go against the rules that state once a player is pulled he is not to be put back in.

If I remember correctly I then said this silly thing about "another marker". What I should have said was...

If the rules state that a player is only eliminated when marked by being shot by an active (not another) marker, then the refs is technically wrong for pulling a player who has shot his own bunker and/or rubbed in old paint still on the bunker.

Hope this clears things up, and from now on I will try only to write between 10:30 and 10:45 in the morning - that's usually when I'm the most alert :) :) :)

Well actually....

Nope because it didn't break... and as you point out the ball has to impact and BREAK to be an obvious hit. Not just impact...
