because they aren't aware of it. once more people are aware of tournament paintball, then we can start to bring people in.

can you imagine turning up for your first ever experience of paintball and getting pasted by a load of ego's/dm?'s/insert high end marker here?? would exactly endear you to the sport.

however it is a lot easier to go up against someone else with a tippy or whatever and mot get totally wiped out.

slow and easy wins the race................
Exactly...So if they were aware of it and introduced in the proper way, whats stopping us/them.

Brings me back to my point about advertising, is there delta force sites where you are dusty? delta force (or equilvalnt) stand in your town? Ever seen a sup'sir advert?

Dude I live in nothern ireland. Its a really nice place to visit, but we are lucky to have regular newspapers, never mind billboards advertising any form of paintball. My town consists of 25,000 alcoholics............. me being the exception naturally.

the only one site i have seen advertising is Escarmouche, and only by chance.

Ahhh yeah sorry forgot where you lived, maybe a bad exmaple :p

But do you see my point. Offering a alternative to spending £6 per 100 in a woods and also introducing more people to our sport can only be a good thing no matter which way you look at it

Do you think they would if one day they walked thru your local town and saw a sup'air stand up? Maybe they'd be a bit more interested

absolutely see your point mate, but why not introduce rec ballers to tourney ballers paint prices? encourage them to shoot more without worrying about the cost and take it from there.

my point is, go out and ask ten strangers if they have heard of paintball. if you are lucky enough to find ten people who have, get them to tell you what it is....................

then tell them what tourney ball is and ask them if they want a go..........

as great as tournament paintball is, it doesn't sound it. see the aforementioned thread about "what do people say when you tell them........" as mentioned by Raffles.

I agree with letting rec'ballers know aswell but why just take it from there? why not do both?

No doubt the ten stranger i'd ask out of the 10 lets say 4 have heard of ''paintball'' i'd savely say that 2 out of that 4 would know about it from a delta force (or equivilant) stand being in there town. So why not try and change there perception of ''paintball'' let them answer you saying '' ahh yes but isnt there a tournament inflatable side'' atleast thats a start....''Ahhh yeah i saw a sup'air stand in town the other week'' not the same old rambo delta force days.

I wont go into why tournament paintball doesnt sound great, as i have alot to say on how people are introduced to the sport when they actualy get to the sup air field....but hey thats another thread ;)

Its one thing to get people to do rec balling but doing tounry paintball is another thing, its not a cheap hobby and that turns people away, it just because i am an idiot with to much money i am doing it, but really there arent enough people in N.Ireland that want to do tournments and therefore dont really play, like we struggle to get 8 people to practice and there are like 15 people that have guns over here that dont bother their arse

Well thats sorts of falls into what i said above about not starting to go on about how people are introduced to tourney ball once they are actually at the sup sir field.

N.Ireland might not be such a good example

don't take this as a belligerent remark, but Pete, if you know how you want to see it done, why don't you go and do it? who else has the contacts and the knowledge to make it happen?

there is always someone who has to be a pioneer for everything.

i think what you want to see is the perfect paintball site, enticing people in with rambo ball, and gradually but progressively leading them to hyper ball, then on to supair ball. thats a basic analysis anyway................

Dusty, I have done my bit mate....and then some......all I care about is tourney ball, I don't give two shiits for the majority of our site owners and if after I have highlighted a problem, come up with examples of practicable options, provided a working blueprint as to get things going, you think I am then gonna go spoonfeed these guys???
Dusty, it's not as if I can go and change in a phone box and fly out with my cape fluttering behind me ...... FFS someone else do something about it but telling me ballers are gonna do is like telling me King Canute had a chance.

This now has to come from the industry (finance and resources, I have neither) themselves...end of !!!

And as for me wanting anything perfect.....I'm a pragmatist Dusty not an idealist !
