humour at stores
no need to buy humour at the corner shop since we're all born with plenty, it just seems to dilute when it crosses the pond
having spent plenty time in the states it appears everyone is very happy to publicise their irish connections where possible. i spent half of last week in NYC listening to random people telling me how irish they were, and none of those were particularly stupid in the slightest, apart from the historical bs they came out with.
in the US if someone had a comment about someone's grammar and from that abused their e.g. hispanic or african origin then you would be tainted with the racism thing, and quite rightly.
i know this is not pb related but i do have a beef about generalisations without substance...every lingo has grammatical issues, country of origin has nothing to do with it
