Hang on - if the gun leaks down the barrel, then the valve isn't sealing.

If the valve isn't sealing as you describe, then the pressure in the LPR will be too low to succesfully cycle the ram and c-o-c-k the hammer.

Things to try:

c-o-c-k it manually, does it stop leaking.

If so, wind the IVG all the way out flush (the velocity will be way low - but we can worry about that later) Does it still leak?

If not, remove the valve, inspect for damage. Clean , lube and re-assemble it. Does it still leak?

The gun leaks because the gun hasnt cocked, so basically it is as if it has been gassed up without pulling the cocking rod back first which will make the air flood through the barrel.

Other than the above, there is no leaks while cocked.

Would the rubber cocking rod cussion have an effect on the cocking though?
I mean, its like 4 mil extra distance on the rod and back block when it is cocking?

That's not good and might mean your main spring is too strong or the IVG is wound in too far or the front spring is too weak.

c-o-c-k the gun,move the back block rearward until it touches the cocking rod. Now look down the feedneck and feel with your finger - where is the bolt?

can you move the back block rearward any more?

the main spring does seem very heavy but i believe it is the original main spring? I do have a lighter spring in a spare pro flex cocker though which i can switch out.

Just got it out of my bag, it does have a rubber seat on the rod, it was the proflex that didnt have the rubber (silly me)

When i c-o-c-k the gun, there is about 3 mil of the tip of the bolt showing, it does push back further.

3mm is probably OK - but a little on the large side. When it pushes further - is it still visible down the feedneck?

Also - with the back block as far as it will travel, will the c-o-c-king rod travel further?

that means either your hammer lug is hitting the end of the hammer slot or the hammer is restricted by the IVG / sping.

Wind out the IVG to flush then set your cocking rod length so it moves another 2-3mm.

Internal Velocity Governer

It's the bit that screws into the bottom tube.

To adjust you remove the cocking rod, then insert an allen key. clockwise = in & higher velocity, anti-clockwise = out and lower.
