would love to see some empty events in a twisted kinda way.

tbh, its a loada **** imho. you know if your bottle is fked or not just be sensible about it. tbh, they check every bottle anyway...meh. apathy reigns supreme. pb is bs at times, lets be honest.

funny to think what the sponsored teams are doing. mind you theyll probably be taken care of its the small people who will be hit hardest as usual no doubt.
im glad i didn't bother buying a stakko but i do think that boycotting events should happen every now and then just so the organisers can see that its the customers that count.

to be fair, in my and many peoples esperiences the stakos are ****ing ace.
i hope that its just a batch issues, those that are **** get resolved (much like those 6000 luxfer bottles in the usa and beyond) and they get back sorted.

i can understand the blanket ban, but tbh, any event that has them banned i wont be playing (yet to hear the pa rule on it)...no gear = no play. im not buying another heavier bottle again.

I'm not denying stakkos are brilliant bottles as I have used one many a time and enjoyed it.

Just think its lame that something like this has occured and as you have previously mentioned its the little guy that gets f**ked over.

NEW RELEASE FROM STAKO

Bulletin no. 2007-06
To All STAKO Users

This is with regard to press release of The Millennium-Series Ltd. and the ban of
STAKO products from Millennium events

STAKO is shocked and concerned about the situation at Millennium of last
weekend. The situation is most likely for the filling procedure and the physical
phenomenon that is normal during filing of full composite tank.
The design of our super light tanks is different from the ones made with aluminium
liners. Our thermoplastic liners are much lighter, but they are not as stiff as
aluminium. Consequently during filling they work just like a tyre tube. The internal
plastic liner and the carbon fibre wrapping adhere to each other, but when the
bottle is empty and there is no pressure inside the tiny gap between the liner and
the wrapping is formed. When such bottle is filled up, this gap needs to close as
the plastic liner starts to adhere to carbon wrapping again. The small portion of air
from this gap needs to evacuate through the wrapping. Afterwards, when the tank
is filled again, no leakage or pressure drop can be observed.
All tanks questioned are under detailed investigation. We are checking if any
cracks from dropping or mis-use of the tanks could have occurred in any of those
cases. We will be looking in to claims made by H-pac and will take legal action if
necessary for false claims and improper representation of STAKO Cylinder.

OK, bit from Stako was put up whilst I was typing, and it seems they and H-PAC are now going to have fight, but still no lovely light bottles for a bit:(

I can't see that it helps to boycott events that have banned them until the issue is resolved, though, as surely we'd expect them to put safety first and not risk someone's bottle going pop? I'd be more inclined to boycott a league that didn't ban them at least until we get word from Stako as to the precise nature of the problem. It does suprise me how many people own several guns and only one bottle; I know they're expensive but what do you do if your usual bottle reg craps its pants or a gauge or nipple starts hissing, go home for the day?
I can't see it's fair to expect any series organisers just to say 'don't worry about it and fill anyway' when these problems have occurred and the product's safety is in question. I'm not at all happy about having to buy another tank but better that than exploding head syndrome, and I certainly can't blame H-PAC or the Masters et al for trying to keep us safe until all this gets sorted. I feel my Stako tank is safe, it certainly holds pressure for weeks and shows no signs of problems, but I'm not going to tell anyone to fill it or else as they're the ones who get sued if anything happens. Saying 'you know if your bottle is ****ed or not' is like saying 'you know if you've got cancer or not'- some problems only show up in a test and there's always someone who'll be insisting their unsafe bottle must be filled and it was fine when they checked it this morning. Look at those guys that show up with bottles out of test and then shout at H-PAC because their local site always lets them use it:rolleyes:
