Its not whats on the spalsh page i dont like, its the whole splash page, it takes up time and sites are much nicer when you enter the site directly :D

Ok last bite

£20 a month for cable, yes plus install costs and only at that price if you already have cable (phone) plus you need cable in your area...not all have it

Don't pay £15 pay less but then I PAY FOR IT MYSELF...you pay the bills in your house?

Broadband has varying prices and speeds to them NTL doesn't have the fastest connection but then the £20 you quote is for the basic package :D

Notice you didn't answer my question as to your net skills, but then guess you are getting a ****** sitting at your screen watching others reply to your posts

Guys come one... Let's not turn this into a silly argument about broadband prices and who payes the bills in the house. We just laid out a new site and we wanted you guys to have a look at it and maybe drop us a line in the forum. We didn't mean to start an argument here....

Here's the thing. We decided to do something different, and with all the ideas we came up with, we found out that maybe this site wouldn't be frequently visited by people still using 56k or ISDN. We are aware of that. If we keep thinking that some people are still using 56k or 28,8 or whatever, then the materiel you can put on a web-site is pretty restricted and we wouldn't be able to do things as we planed. You kind of wanna use everthing internet has to offer, rendering people with "slower" connection irritated and disappointed. So to those of you still using dial-up service : Sorry guys, but don't worry....you'll be on broadband soon eh ?

So if you got the patience to let the site load, then come visit us at www.council-hq.com , and please drop us a line in the forum section :) (but don't tell us you hate the site 'cuz it loads slow. We are aware of that)

And to you Philip I gotta say we sure don't share the same taste in web-sites. I find the splash site one of the coolest features of our site. Love that image ! Thx for the feedback though :)

sorry guys...bet you did not think this would happen with your first team post......the night i did them posts i was reading some very boring EEC directives...and needed some fun. if ppl are daft enough to take the bate thats there problem. and oh yes mark i have my own house pay all the bill and play ball every week. oh ye and my dads bigger than your dad:D

No probs about the feedback :D

But anyway, you could actually increase site speed by using PHP includes, if you already do, then try reducing images sizes, that'll sort it out :D

G*Zu$ ok feedback and all that you have chosen a rather quiet week to launch your site with Campaign going on (people getting ready etc) and thread hijacks go on all the time...as pointed out "someone was bored" constructive well balanced posts rarely get flamed but yehaa type ones do ;)
I see what you are trying to do in so far as to put all that you can on the site, errors don't usually show them selves on quick connections and when you are sitting waiting for things to happen you look closer at what you already can see thats all.

no good going easy on them now mark..after what you said in your first post. hijack!! my point was just as valid.r yes and glass houses...just looked at your site.they blow it into the weeds.good on them for going for it,,,,its the way it will all go its called progress.
