Raff, I refer once again back to an earlier post, it requires a short to mid term investment for a mid to long term return.
Most serious financial investments aren't short-term propositions and so why on earth our site owners should require a 'wham, bam, thank you man' return is beyond me.
In fact, it does highlight the lack of responsible investment management these guys exhibit when so few adopt a mid to long term approach.
Russel Steele does, Sid the Jock does and I'm sure a few more besides but these guys are like rocking horse cr@p but it's no co-incidence (and I'm sure Russ won't mind me mentioning this) that Russ is one rich mofo with his site doing quite well thankyou..and good luck to the man is what I say.
It has to be a hybrid approach of marketing and site investment; in the primary stages of this plan, all that is required is a Sup' Air field (doesn't even have to be new) and a resolution to market Paintball locally on two tiers.
Firstly his business is obviously targeted in that he goes after the 'average' baller, this is the guy who comes along with his mates every six months or so and just likes playing woodland ball, this is his core business at the moment and we don't want this financial base compromised.
The second tier is marketing the tourney side of Paintball best exemplified by playing Paintball on a Sup' Air field.
Now this targeting isn't done solely with respect to his rental base, it has also to be done direct to the public, just as his woodland business is.
The sort of approach similar to Delta Force in a local mall should do it, presentation booth, DVDs running, leaflets (you can get these from Mr Dane

), PGi's etc, all should give sufficient flavour to the right demographic.
His site has to have PGi racked out on a few shelves with a tourney DVD running in the background,a nd once again the ubiquitous info sheet.
It doesn't take much to provoke interest, it really doesn't.
Now I ain't no marketing guy, but this ain't exactly rocket science here.
The switched on site owners (if in fact there are any outside of the guys I have mentioned) will also go to the industry with a proposed marketing plan and seek some help or rather a promotional partnership whereby both can benefit.
These things aren't hard to work out and are really common sense but you'd be hard pressed to find a site owner to go down this road when all he's worried about is how many greenbacks he's got folded in his back pocket.
So, there you have it......not difficult, can't be, I worked it out therefore anybody can do it, all it needs is people with the resolve to see it thru and let's face it, it's not really a new model of business, this works, it has precedence.
I love this sport of ours and I honestly, passionately believe with every fibre in my body that tourney ball is a significantly better product to sell to the masses than Rambo ball and if any site owners doubt this, then they really shouldn't be embarking upon this enterprise.
